In 2011, I had changed my folder phone to smart phone, ' Optimus One ' of LG Electronics.
Before anything else, I was shocked by free text message application ' Kakao Talk '(It's similar with Facebook messenger, but you may not have heard of it). Because 10+ years ago in Korea(south of course), Telecoms restricted volume of text messages and calls by phone bill, so as student, I always starved.
And little later, they support not only free text message, also call ! So I noticed that extinction of folder will soon. But I didn't see Folder's ressurection.
Anyway the reason why I talked old story, I just curious inside of phone cover and if there're some useful electronic elements like IMU or camera sensor, why should we keep it in the shelf?
So Let's Disassemble !
First, I removed 6 screws and back cover. This phone was maded in 12 / 2010 from LG Electronics / Korea.
And In that season, smart phones used replaceable batterty, so USIM tray is placed behind battery. Also since its capacity is very low, micro-sd card is inevitable. You can check sd card tray above.
Then open the white block above.
Today, meanwhile, the earphone-hole is disappeared, but at that time, 5mm earphone-hole was left. What a peaceful time.
And we can check speaker, camera with 3 million pixel and other things.
Now let's remove big aluminum plate which is for thermal solution.
Then display, mother board and front cover is seperated. I was surprised that they quite cared about the thermal solution.
Qualcomm has dominated smart phone market at that time !
I guess few of components are usable : speaker, camera and barometer. I'm not sure but the element highlighted with red circle is probably barometer.
There're no treasure but it's great experience. I already got everything I wanted but if I succeed in recycle camera and speaker, it would be fun. I really hope it.
Thanks for your reading and I hope you got what you wanted !
