    Simulation of Vision-based Cooperative Space Relative Navigation for On-Orbit Servicing

    Abstract

    In this paper, I suggests a method to design vision-based space relative navigation in cooperative situation for On-Orbit Servicing and verify by simulation. Infrared Emitting Diode is attached on four vertices of the Target Satellite, and detects them by Infrared camera of the Chaser Satellite. Get a relative position of Target Satellite by analyse the detected image, and align the coordinate with drawing a circle trajectory. But, you can't determine the direction for knowing four vertices. For solving this problem, assigned numbers to each vertices, and got a precise relative pose infomation by re-assigned numbers with Dicision of Direction algorithm. From this, controlled the Chaser Satellite, consequently, verified the reliability of algorithm as a result of the final relative position error converged to 0.05 m.
